Why is the Famous Playboy Magazine Closing Down

Another closure announcement was made today from a well -known company "The Playboy Enterprise". The CEO of the company wrote an open letter announcing that the printed version of the magazine will not be published anymore for the year 2020.

He mentioned the changed situation due to coronavirus pandemic as one of the causes that pushed them to take such a decision. Another one was the reflection of the company on how to produce a magazine that comes closer to readers' demands.

After the Spring Playboy Magazine, all their products will go digital and will continue like that for the rest of the year.

The letter from the company was not a typical announcement for temporary closure. It sounded to me like a final closure after 66 years of the magazine in the market.

Playboy is recognized by 97% of the world population, making it one of the most well-known brands in the market. But, the real value of the magazine was diminished when online services came along. The last 30 years have been not easy for the magazine, which broke many taboos and change the world. It was faced with a reduction in sales and difficulties to survive financially. 

It seems that there will not be anymore another Playboy, like the one we have seen so far. At the time of coronavirus and high sexual freedom, people need to receive another type of product to enrich their sexual fantasies and pleasure.
